Darksiders II announced for Wii U

Yesterday THQ confirmed that its upcoming action adventure title Darksiders II will be released for the Wii U and will include additional content which will not be feature on other platforms. Included on the disc will be the first DLC expansion, Argul's Tomb, as well as all pre order bonuses from editions, adding around five hours of playable content and new legendary weapons and armor.

Darksiders II on Wii U will take advantage of the unique Wii U GamePad, utilizing the touch screen to display map and objectives as well as giving quick access to abilities and Death’s inventory. The Wii U system’s gyro functionality will also be utilized to allow players to evade enemy attacks, manipulate objects in the world and steer their character during swimming and riding sequences.

Ryan Stefanelli, Producer of Darksiders II commented: “We are delighted that Wii U owners will be able to experience the vast world of Darksiders II at launch. The unique Wii U GamePad adds a whole world of possibility that we will be taking advantage of in this title.”

Darksiders II follows the exploits of DEATH, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, in an action-packed tale that runs parallel to the events in the originalDarksiders game. This epic journey propels DEATH through various light and dark realms as he tries to redeem his brother WAR, the horseman blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksiders.

EA Unveils First Live Demo Of Real Racing 3, Optimized For IPhone 5

Couple of days ago EA gave us the first live demo of Real Racing 3,its the forthcoming title for iOS. Real Racing 3 developed by EA Firemonkeys studios, will bring us the ultimate racing experience to the IPhone 5 later this year. Real Racing 3 will be taking full advantage of the IPhone 5's brilliant 4" Retina display and enhanced graphics capabilities and processing power, making it one of the sharpest, most thrilling ways to experience this outstanding racing game. 

With Apple continuing to evolve the mobile games experience, EA believe that games like Real Racing 3 best highlight what what consumers have to look forward to with these advancements. Rob Murray, Executive  Producer at EA Firemonkeys studio said "The game's dynamic reflections, sharp track shadows and other beautifully detailed assets will take full advantage of the IPhones 5's new visual capabilities and greater performance to deliver a mobile gaming experience that rivals many console games".

Real Racing 3 features dynamic reflections, plus an all new rear view mirror that will give the players important cues about their competitors, as well as time shifted multiplayer and a brand new feature that leverages Game Center iOS 6 challenges.

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Trailer Preview

Ok so last night Konami released the first trailer of Ground Zeroes at PAX 2012 and graphics wise its jaw dropping. So what did the trailer show us? Well at first we open up with a cut scene which sets the tone of what we can expect. The location is set in a prison camp called Camp Omega where we see a group of soldiers  walking in.

 As they walk in we get a glimpse of the camp we can see that guard dogs will make a return and prisoners tied up and held at gun point maybe ready to be executed. As we return to the soldiers they a heading towards a cage where a little kid known as Chico is being held.

 Branded as a traitor by the leader of the soldier, Chico is given a tape recorder  by the leader saying that he had earned it. By the sound of it the kid made a deal and turned someone over who was later tortured and killed. could this kid be Jack the Ripper AKA Raiden? only time will tell.

After a short drive to the helipads we learn that Paz (Peacewalker) is still alive. As the leader makes his way to the helicopter we get a close up of him, his face is badly scarred burn scars maybe? perhaps this could be Colonel Volgin?? or someone new??

From "FOX" two phantoms were born.

This could mean two things.

• 1. Big Boss and Major Zeroes Fallout and the raise of The Patriots 
• 2. The birth of Solid Snake and Liquid Snake.

One thing to clean up, this isn't Solid Snake from MGS1,2 and 4. It's Naked Snake from MGS 3 Snake eater and Peacewalker. As you can tell from the trailer some time has pasted from the events of MGS 3 and Peacewalker.

As the intro ends we see the game play kick in real time and we immediately see how the stealth mechanics works as snake smoothly finds cover behind a rock and being able to use his scope from cover.

Hideo Kojima Also announced that Ground Zeroes would be an open world game, so walking around might just take you a bit to long get to places so driving vehicles has being introduced into the Metal Gear Solid series for the first time. You can also place flares down to call in your very own helicopter which can offer covering fire or offer you transport between countries.

So all in all Ground Zeroes looks like a very promising games visual the graphics are amazing and with the weather it just adds to the atmosphere game. Konami have truly pushed the Playstation 3 to it limits.

Dead Island Riptide Preview

Back at E3 2012, the publishers of Deep Silver announced Dead Island Riptide, a sequel to Techland's 2011 masterpiece Dead Island. And that's pretty much all the companies let on to, but earlier today we final got to see what Riptide looked like.

"Having survived the ordeals of the zombie infestation on the once beautiful island resort of Banoi, our group of survivors thought they had finally found a safe place to escape from this terrifying nightmare, but they were wrong. Shortly after the battle-hardened team had landed their  helicopter on a military ship, a furious storm hits and havoc quickly spreads on board. Suddenly they find themselves struggling for their lives again with all hope drowning in the rising waves." read the Dead Island Riptide press release.

Where do our survivors end up? By the look of things we'll be exploring a zombie infested island or set of island. " A monsoon has hit the once beautiful archipelago and heavy rainstorms have laid waste to large areas of the islands. The city of Henderson and jungle areas on the island of Palanai were flooded leaving boats as the only remaining way of transportation," the release stated. 

Apart from new locations, Dead Island Riptide adds a fifth character with an " all-new and unique skillset." We will also see new zombie mutations, dynamic weather condition, co-op communication features, and "hub defense missions" the survivors will "need to strategically place traps, fences and turrents to fend off oncoming zombie onslaughts and to protect the humans in these sanctuaries."  

Dead Island Riptide is set to come out in 2013 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 though no date is offical yet.

Skyrim Hearthfire Preview

In the last downloadable content for Skyrim's Dawnguard we found ourselves hunting down vampires so it was good for Bethesda to give us all a break in the next downloadable content called Hearthfire. Within Hearthfire you'll be able to purchase a piece of land in Skyrim and build your very own house.

You'll by able to purchase land after obtaining a deed, by using a crafting tables and work benches you'll be able to use raw material to build rooms such as alchemy labs, enchanter tower greenhouses, kitchens, libraries and trophy rooms. By using the interior work bench you can furnish your rooms and craft items such as display cases to showcase your treasures.

Outside the house you can create gardens, fish hatcheries and bee hives making resource collection a bit more convenient. You can hire stewards to help out with the household tasks, they also offer transportation options to towns.

Once your house is set up you'll be able to move your spouse in and adopt children allowing you to raise them up, but living off the land isn't that easy as you will often find yourself stopping Skeever infestations and defending your property from raging giants.

Bethesda plan to release Hearthfire on September 4 on Xbox Live for 400 Microsoft Points. Check out the full trailer now.
